You don’t really want to sleep on the cold, hard ground when you’re camping out. The full length base sleep mat will help give you a comfortable nights sleep by offering a bit of extra padding under your sleeping bag and raising you off the cold ground. Time is usually precious when setting up camp for the night so as the base is self-inflating, just open the value, chuck it on the ground and get on with other more interesting things.
